Post-Independence Biharibhai Shah founded the iconic Rupam Cinema on the famous Relief Road in Ahmedabad in 1951

Rupam Cinema had a glorious and monumental run for 65 years and is still a fond memory for all of the city’s cinephiles. It boasts a proud record for having the most Golden Jubilee movie runs amongst all of Gujarat’s theatres and also one of the highest for theatres across India.

Tickets used to be sold out weeks & months prior and the audience was captivated, their laughter and applause echoing through the theater as they thoroughly enjoyed the film's every moment.

The group’s love for Mumbai was further strengthened by the setting up of Sion’s most beloved Rupam Cinema in 1965 which had an outstanding seating capacity of roughly 1000 seats and ran for 30 years as a single screen cinema.

Rupam Multiplex was inaugurated with 2 screens in the bustling Rupam Laxmi Arcade in 2020at its pre-existing location after the iconic Rupam cinema bid adieu to the audiences in 2015.
